Leyland Direct to Metal Paint is a smooth, semi-gloss coating which can be applied direct to bare, previously painted or weathered metal surfaces providing a hardwearing finish. It offers excellent anti-corrosive properties whilst maintaining excellent adhesion attributes.

PREPARATION
All surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from grease. Remove any crazed or flaking paint. Rub down sound glossy surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly to provide a key. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.

APPLICATION
Stir well before use. Apply by brush or roller. The brush should be fully loaded for best results. For optimum performance, apply a second coat approx. 2 hours after the 1st application when the film is touch dry but not fully cured. Depending on conditions, the product should be completely dry after 16-24 hours.

COVERAGE
1 litre will cover approximately 10 square metres depending on the nature and porosity of the surface. Strong or contrasting colours may require additional coats. When using more than one tin of a colour in the same area, intermix before use.

CLEANING
Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Clean equipment immediately after use in White Spirit or Turpentine Substitute.
